My life has been bereft of adventure lately, but tonight that is going to change. I ain’t afraid of no swine flu, so it’s off to Mexico on a three-legged flight. SFO to Guadalajara to Mexico City to Tuxtla, which is somewhere way south of the Yucatan. My daughter, Kelsey, is taking me with her to visit her boyfriend, Jaime. They met and fell in love in Petaluma last summer, but last month Jaime had to return to Mexico to help his mother take care of his terminally ill abuela.

When Jaime left, I gave him a quilt to take with him, which is pictured here. It has sharks on the back. His relatives in Mexico admired it, and he called to say they would like to have king size one, too. Okay! I tried, but didn’t have time to finish it. King size is way bigger than any quilt I’ve ever made.

If I can figure out how to blog from Mexico, I will. Otherwise, it’s adios amigos until May 25.
